At first I was a bit confused, as to why there were short little chapters before the boxset. But once I started into the first book, I understood. Its a needed explanation as to the basic character makeup and without it, you might end up a little lost.Its a rare find, a story with a female lead character who is over the age of 30. Deanndra pulled it off! This boxset is a MUST! You will fall in love with the members of the family, just make sure you have a big box of tissues at hand.
Each story has a underlying message, a message that is a very simple one.
Love will come in its own time, in its own way.

This was my first experience with Deanndra Hall's writing. She delivers real characters with true heartaches. Life has kicked them in the pants and they are just trying to find happiness wherever it can be found. I love that she gives a history of each character at the beginning so it allows you to know them and what brought them all to the lives they lead now.
When I began to read the stories surrounding this family I was amazed. This was my first read about BDSM life style. Had to stop several times to look up things on the Internet. Graphic sex. Relationships between the men and women was all about respect and love. The story lines about every person was suspenseful and thrilling. These books are not just about sex.
I always think of a good book as one I can't stop thinking about (or maybe my life just isn't as eventful) and get emotionally attached to. This was a series unlike what I have read before and it was written impeccably. I really enjoyed the series, just when I thought it might be getting a little dry things were amped up. Thank you for writing such a great well thought out story that from what I have read (and I have read a lot) a little unconventional.
I was very confused when I started this set. But once I got into the actual book I couldn't put it down. The beginning was necessary to understand the characters. If you are uncomfortable with BDSM then do not read this book. It is a major part of this set. I thought it was well written into the story.
I really loved this set. It will stay with me for a longtime. The way the family loved each other was so intense. A great set.
The first two books went along pretty well, with some interesting characters in situations I haven't encountered before. However, I think the writer ran out of steam with book 3. I liked many of the characters, but by #3 it was very predictable. There's gonna be a big, criminal, life-threatening obstacle.
What really sealed it for me - the ending of book 3. The writer just literally and figuratively waves a magic wand to give our characters a happy ending. It's like she couldn't be bothered to write herself out of the corner she put herself in.
Oh, and while the romance in the first books is hot, by #3, it's mechanical and kind of boring. I literally skipped over a lot of those scenes.
I almost returned this book. SO GLAD I didn't. The beginning introduced us to the characters which was so overwhelming. I had trouble keeping them straight. Then I started the book. It was absolutely wonderful. I loved how the books kept building on the different characters. The sex scenes were awesome! I really grew to love all the characters. They had such powerful relationships. Realize that there are a few threesome's, go in with an open mind. You won't be disappointed!
Loved all four books. Became entwined in characters lives. Each book leads into the next with all new scenario but keeps the original characters. Its so nice to keep involved in their lives but to keep adding new people. If anyone is squeamish about sex, this is not the book for you. It is very sexual but it goes along with the stories. I especially appreciative the ending. In the real world, it would have gone differently. I read for pleasure and escape, so a Hea is imperative. Thanks
