“Leading to Success” is a relaxed way of looking at various facets of leadership and it is sub-divided into five very broad headings; Leadership, Management, Operations, Sales and People. However as I believe that every business needs to have several leaders, for example, team leaders or departmental managers, then the headings are pretty well interchangeable.
This book is not an academic tome; rather it is a series of chats with the reader to help understand the very wide range of abilities which all leaders need and which are mostly skills to hone and polish.
I am pretty ancient in terms of years but I still feel that I still have a great deal to learn about business and especially about leadership.
My work as a management consultant/mentor to Chief Executives and my chairmanship of a Vistage International Chief Executive group in the North West of England give me a wide perspective of the problems, issues and opportunities encountered by business leaders on a daily basis.
It takes vision, courage, insight, determination and dedication to run a successful business and developing and cementing relationships also come high on the list of traits found in great leaders.
Running a business should be fun; this book, I hope, helps to make it more so.
