Carver Pike, you are a pure evil genius! I seriously am kinda scared of how this story came about - like seriously. We need to have words - cause I am not sure if I should run for the woods or be turned on.I don’t do horror...like really...I usually run in the opposite direction. I was intrigued with A Foreign Evil: Diablo Snuff after reading the blurb and I one-clicked figuring what the h@ll let’s try something new and I stepped out of my comfort zone.
I don’t even know where to start....Foreign Evil: Diablo Snuff is a fast read but definitely not lacking in hot sex and a slew of scary and frightening things. From page one I was drawn into the story and just had to keep reading. It was like the pages were calling to me.
Michael is on vacation for his buddies Bachelor getaway when he meets Isabelle and becomes enamoured with her. There is an undeniable attraction and pull that he has with her. The two end up at a “Push” (gotta read the book - just go with it) and end up having some very hot, erotic and kinda kinky sex. Afterwards is where things get strange and kinda scary- we are introduced to Diablo Snuff. You ask what or who Diablo Snuff is??? Well I would ruin the book for you....just let me tell you around 85-90% in things started clicking and I said to myself “Carver Pike is a pure, evil genius”.
I am so glad I went out of my comfort zone and read this book. Carver Pike, I am now addicted. I can’t wait to read more of your books.

A Foreign Evil Diablo Snuff 1 is a short story told from the guy's POV. It is an erotic horror and definitely fits that genre! This is my first book of this genre to read and I liked it more than I thought I would! It was interesting, sexy, and had a little humor thrown in...and then it got super crazy, weird, and horrifying! Michael goes with his friends for a bachelors getaway in Panama for a few days. He meets a stunning lady and things get heated after awhile! Looking forward to an awesome, fun night, he leaves with her. But when they get to where she takes him, he knows something isn't right...but she's amazing and he has to have her. What the night turns into is completely insane! Not gonna give away any spoilers, but it was definitely nothing I seen coming or expected! Lol This is also my first book by this author to read and I can promise I will be reading more! So if you are wanting a short read to take you to a whole other world of craziness that a night of meeting pure evil can bring, you have to try this one out!
While Michael is out of the country in Panama for work, he meets exotic Isabelle at a local bar! Looking for a good time she persuades him not to hook up with any of the local girls. Fascinated, but not only her beauty but how easy she is to talk to he joins her for dinner! As the night goes on so does the attraction for one another. Not wanting to go back to his hotel he shares with his buddies and tight on money, Isabella takes him to a place called Push! Although, Michael starts to feel uncomfortable at his new surrounderings, the way Isabella strokes his ego has him throwing caution to the wind!! But the horrors that await Michael, does come close to anything that his imagination could even come up with! As he fights to stay alive, and the horror that surrounds him, he just can't understand how nobody ever new this place existed, but will he even survive the night to tell?
I generally avoid the erotic section on , not because I'm a prude, but because the few books and stories in that category I've read tend to wind up sounding like letters to Penthouse magazine. But I was intrigued when I read the blurb for "Foreign Evil," billed as an erotic horror novella by Carver Pike. I was even more intrigued to discover that the author maintains two different personas on , writing his (or her) erotic horror books under the Pike name and also writing more traditional erotic romances under the name C.C. Genovese. So, I gave the book a try and found out, to my pleasant surprise, that Pike is a good erotic writer, a good horror writer, and a good writer period.
“Foreign Evil” takes place in Panama City (Panama, not Florida), where a group of young Americans have gone on an extended bachelor party for one of their number. Their itinerary takes them to various dive bars and casinos with the usual assortment of hardened prostitutes. After separating from his friends, the narrator, Michael, strikes up an acquaintance with Isabelle, a young woman who doesn’t appear to be the typical hooker, and after some conversation and dancing, she agrees to take Michael to a place where they can be together. Their cab ride winds up in a seedy part of town, where it begins to dawn on Michael that going off with a strange woman in a foreign country to a rundown part of town in the middle of the night isn’t the smartest idea in the world. What Michael doesn’t realize is that he’s in for something much worse than a run-of-the-mill mugging.
Michael and Isabelle’s destination appears to be an adult motel, with a wide variety of adult novelty devices available for their guests to select. And Michael and Isabelle soon have an encounter that takes up the second quarter of “Foreign Evil” and definitely provides the erotic part of the book’s description. When they are done, however, Michael discovers that there are people in the motel who have other plans for him that aren’t nearly as pleasant, and he spends most of the last half of the book simply trying to stay alive and to figure out just what type of place this motel actually is. I wouldn’t want to give away any spoilerish plot details, but I would point out that the subtitle of the book is “Diablo Snuff,” so that should give readers a big clue about what’s going on.
What really surprised me about “Foreign Evil” was the precise, clever manner in which the story was put together. Unlike the other erotica I’ve read on , “Foreign Evil” wasn’t merely a string of encounters thrown together until they reach book length. Instead, author Pike has one big sex scene in the story, and it’s as kinky a scene as you’ll read any time soon, but it’s also a quite effective scene, even with the usual dose of four-letter words and other crude terminology. That scene sets the stage for the more gruesome material to follow. Much horror fiction, from the days of “Dracula” on, contained a good bit of erotic material, and author Pike uses his erotic material to set the stage, in more ways than one, for the rest of his book.
As for the rest of the book, it’s suspenseful and rather graphic in a different way, mindful of Eli Roth’s “Hostel” movies. This is definitely not a book for the squeamish. But it’s also compelling, as readers will be interested in following Michael as he tries to discover what’s actually going on at the motel. Books of this type require a considerable suspension of disbelief on the part of readers, and Pike’s writing style easily allows readers to gloss over implausibilities such as some likely crime reports that would certainly catch the eye of even the most inept police department in the world. And, when the ultimate reveal arrives, it makes sense in the world that Pike has created.
Alas, Pike can’t sustain his gruesome fantasy world over the last couple of pages, and the ending appears almost a tacked-on afterthought. Still for almost the entire book, Carver Pike provides the best written erotic tale, and one of the better written horror tales, that I’ve read on . Both the erotic and the horror elements of “Foreign Evil” work well, and, even better, wind up complementing each other in creating a memorable overall mood for the story. “Foreign Evil” is definitely not a book for everyone’s tastes, but it is a definite, albeit kinky and disturbing, treat for fans of the right genres.
